Southwest Florida Cruising Group
On November 4, 2007, 42-members joined to kick off the start of the cruising season & get our local area chapter of MTOA moving! Our goals were simple: have some fun, and to see where you wanted this chapter to be. We thank everyone that participated; after all we need turtles to make it happen. And we hope that our next get together has more of you!

One other goal we had was to make monthly gatherings a reality and to have volunteers choose a month to make it happen! The best part is we almost accomplished this goal with our first meeting, with the exception of June & December 2008. We still need volunteers, please contact us if you would like organize an event one of these months or any additional cruises, dinners, gatherings or whatever creative ideas you may have.

The volunteers chose a month and will be getting back to us soon with what they have planned! Some months will be cruises and some land based. I am certain any of these wonderful volunteers would welcome some assistance if you would like to help them out, please contact them directly.

The marina has a solar heated pool, a Chickee hut, and a very nice Boaters Lounge. Downtown Fort Myers is within walking distance and has many resturants and shops. Wow, sounds like 2008 is going to be a fun filled year of MTOA social events!

If you are one of the above volunteers, please contact swfl@mtoa.net or 239.567.2207, ASAP, so we can get your event listed.

For planning purposes we ask that everyone RSVP to the chair people of the monthly events. This is really important as many are very generous and will be providing food items etc.

We are all really excited about having a local chapter and will continue to welcome comments & suggestions.

Smooth cruising!
